Position: Clinical Nurse
A Clinical nurse delivers and continually develops at ground level, healthcare services to both NHS and private healthcare professionals and to patients in support of healthcare. Clinical Nurses are responsible for the implementation, and contribute to the development, of specific healthcare approaches with defined goals and priorities. Activities may involve, clinical audit, therapeutic/treatment review programmes, promoting best practice through healthcare professional education activities, or other commercially based activities in conjunction with Pharmaceutical companies
Job Requirements
- Deliver a Cross-Therapeutic healthcare service, within a designated geographical area, to reflect the changing needs of patient care
- Guarantee education and support where appropriate for primary and/or secondary healthcare professionals who are involved in core therapy areas
- Proactively liase with colleagues, especially the field based teams to capitalise on business opportunities in specific NHS units (e.g. hospital departments, primary care practices, PCGs/PCTs)
In order to monitor the impact, encourage the development and maintenance of evaluation systems related to healthcare services' activity
- Raise awareness of clinical nursing standards as appropriate
- Contribute advice within the clinical area to healthcare professionals and patients
- Continue to develop personal knowledge of clinical issues, changing structures and decision-making processes within the NHS, Private Hospitals and Clinics
- Present timely and accurate records for administration
- Nurture a good personal example by maintaining professionalism and business development
- Clinical Nurses have to comply with all the legal, educational and training requirements to practice as a professional nurse and are required by the Royal College of Nursing to be registered.
