General Nursing Jobs
A General Nursing job encompasses a wide range of nursing skills and abilities and is usually where an individual nurse will start their nursing career before specialising in a specific field. In the UK nurses start as student nurses (now attending Universities rather than pure nursing schools) within the General nursing field and then move in to a chosen area, either adult, children's nursing, disability or mental health nursing. General nursing jobs range from standard care across a wide range of patients or specific nursing such as theatre nursing or intensive care.

Registered General Nurses (RGN) have a varied job description that both treat patients with illness and aim to deliver care when it is required. General Nurses also play a vital role in promoting healthcare with patient education, medicine explanation, health administration and assessments.

A typical nurse will start with a 3 year degree with practical experience in a working or university hospital. General Nurse jobs make up the widest share of positions within the healthcare sector and they play a vital role in care delivery and healthcare services.
