Nurse prescribing in mental health has been promoted through various policy documents and has been subject to extensive research enquiry. Independent nurse prescribing is the latest form of prescriptive authority although little is known about how it can be used in mental health settings. ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.nurserve.co.uk/newforum/member_profile.asp?PF=8" rel="nofollow">Lulu</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Forensic Jobs<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 20 May 2009 at 2:22am<br /><br />there are two different types of forensic nurses.. <br /><br />there are forensic MH nurses who deal with the perpertators of the crimes usually within a prison setting and although you can be adult trained they often prefer for you to MH or dual qualified.<br /><br />the other nurses are forensic sexual health nurses who generally deal with the victims of rape and serious sexual assaults by taking swabs etc... some people find this role quite hard as you are often used as a witness so you have to maintain and fairly neutral attitude with the victims when a lot of nurses would want to offer emotional support where as your really just there for the fact taking and they get referred on to counsellors etc for the emotional fall out. you need to be adult branch trained and usually have a background in sexual health... which tends to require a family planning cert or other study say in GUM.]]>
