Hello Friends......
I'm a male and was thinking about going for nursing because the schooling isnt too long and I want to do something in medical. I hear there are going to be nurse shortages but that just means america needs more nurses not america will employ more nurses. Any tips or advice for me? Thanks |

Anne12,
Absolutely go for nursing, if you really want to! I am finishng 34 years as an RN in the states, 32 of those in A&E. Its a great job, wonderful rewards, and the job security is there, if you can handle it. There will be a big need for nurses, and smeone will need to fill that need. |

America will emply more nurses! See my prior post.
In years past a nurse graduate could choose where, when ,and how they would work. Now there are jobs but you may not get your ideal choice at first. My advice is to join a good hospital in an area that you want to remain in, and wait for an opening in your hearts desire. Who knows you may find you like your initial assingment the best. However, be a Nurse because you want to be a Nurse, NOT because the schooling is short, easy, or cheap. To be a good Nurse you have to WANT to be a Nurse. Cheers |

Nursing will always be a promising job in the future. :) Since people will be getting sick inevitably, nursing is here to stay, and it doesn't matter if you are a male or a female in order to be a good nurse, eh. :)
