 Description Neonatal Nurse - Band 6 Our famous London-based children's teaching hospital is extending their service to include surgery from June 2010. They have fantastic opportunities for dedicated and experienced neonatal nurses who are looking to broaden their clinical experience. The Unit has a well-deserved reputation for being friendly while maintaining high standards of quality care. They are a referral unit expanding to include 19 intensive care and high dependency cots, and 25 special care cots. They currently treat babies with cardiac, neurological, renal and metabolic disorders. The ideal candidate will have the following experience RSCN or RN Child. Specialist Neonatal Course; Previous experience working as Band 5 Staff Nurse on a busy level 3 Neonatal Unit. Previous experience of supervising junior colleagues; ideally you will have ENB 405 or be working towards it. Ability to take charge of the unit as deputy to the ward sister/charge nurse Motivated to learn and develop practice within neonates Experience of providing clinical supervision Ability to prioritise to facilitate direct patient care and unit management. Evidence of ability to work within a team Committed to family-centred care Proven teaching skills Experience as a mentor /assessor Evidence of leadership skills and ability to motivate and support others Evidence of continuing professional development.
